Boston Public Garden: Picnic, Sightsee & Escape

Adjacent to Boston Common lies a beautiful 4-acre botanical park filled with beds of flowers, plants, statues, walking paths and lush landscapes for visitors to admire and escape. Boston's Public Garden has been a part of Boston's history since 1856. As the first botanical garden in America, this historic landmark provides locals and tourists with a quiet respite in the heart of the bustling city. Flowing fountains and legendary statues enhance the greenery, while the elegant swan boats peacefully float around the lagoon. They are available for public boat rides during the spring and summer months, and visitors can expect to see families of ducks adorning the pond, which eventually inspired its own parade held here on Mother's Day.
